Regional Representatives

 

The regional representatives work specific areas around the United States to put together trainings and extrication competitions.  Regions that the representatives cover can be found on the map at the bottom of the page.  If you are interested in hosting an event select on the State the event will take place and contact your local rep for more information

Northeast:
Joe Lenahan

Joe Lenahan is a 39 year veteran of the Montauk Fire Department.  He was Chief within the ranks in 2000 - 2004 and 2014 - 2016, as well as Captain of the Rescue Company.  He has been lead on Rescue Operations in the Montauk FD for over 30 years ith extensive training in all phases of rescue and vehicle extrication.

Joe hold a New York State Instructor Certification in Rescue Operations and Vehicle Extrication's since 1996.  He is a certified Firefighter, Extrication Specialist, Confined Space Technician, RIT, Rescue Diver, Water & Ice Rescue, High & Low Angle Rescue, Trench Rescue, EV Vehicle Rescue Tech and serves as the Montauk Fire Department Training Instructor.

Joe has been competing in Vehicle Extrication Challenges including within JOLT & TERC Challenges for over 28 years. He served as Montauk FD's Extrication Team's incident Commander that won the TERC National Challenge in 2019.

Joe is the Founder of the EXTRICATION 101 platform which he started in 2021 on Facebook that shares specifics on Vehicle Extrication training ideas, tool operations, and real world incidents aroudn the world.

He also runs his own rescue training and tool design company "Rescue 2 Enterprises" since 2016.

Joe has held the position as the Northeast Regional Rep for TERC USA since 2020.

Jeff Pugh

(Puyallup Extrication Team)

Lt. Jeff Pugh has been involved in auto and heavy extrication for over 30 years as a professional firefighter/instructor with 22 years as a company officer for Central Pierce Fire & Rescue. He has competed in and helped organize extrication challenges Regionally, Nationally and Worldwide since 2000 in auto & heavy extrication. He has sat as Chairperson as well as an active member/instructor of his county's Special Operations Team. He also held the position of Rescue Manager for FEMA WA-TF-1 for 19 years - with training in several rescue disciplines such as; SCT I & II, Rope, Trench, Water, Confined Space Rescue as well as Technical Heavy Extrication

 

Jeff is one of the founders and currently sits as the President of the Puyallup Extrication Team (aka PXT) that has been in existence since 2000. He is also a lead instructor for PXT as well as for his own department. He has been part of instructing departments throughout the U.S, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, El Salvador, and parts of Europe.

 

He has competed in all levels of extrication challenges Regionally, Nationally as well as World Challenges. Jeff has written related training articles for the 5th Alarm and Fire Engineering. Jeff instructed Command & Control of a Motor Vehicle Accident and Hand Tools Only many years at Fire Department Instructors Conference (aka FDIC) in Indianapolis, Indiana the largest conference in the Fire Industry.

Midwest:
Mike Huffman

Mike Huffman is a 31-year veteran of the fire service, currently serving as a Battalion Chief for the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Protection District. Mike is currently the HRFD Extrication Team leader and training advisor. Mike has competed in extrication competitions as the Incident Commander for HRFD throughout the USA. Mike has been a International judge for Terc and has competed in 24 regional, 5 National, and 4 International Events. Mike has judged / assessed 16 regional, 4 North American Rescue Challenges, 1 World Rescue Challenge in Frankfurt, Germany, and 3 NAVRA Nationals. Mike is also an adjunct field instructor & Assessor for NAVRA – (North American Vehicle Rescue Association). Mike is a Certified Instructor 2, Roadway extrication specialist, Vehicle and Machinery Operations and Technician for the State if Illinois. Mike also in a FDIC Instructor for the last 6years. Mike is the co-founder of Auto X, a mobile training unit / company that travels throughout the Midwest teaching vehicle extrication. Auto X has developed and implemented Crunch Time Vehicle extrication symposium and Bus Bash, School Bus Rescue that is held in Illinois. Auto X and PXT Teamed up and taught Hand to Hand combat - Vehicle Extrication at FDIC 2016 and 2017 and in 2018 taught The Art of Making Space. Mike and his group Auto X taught Not you everyday extrication @ FDIC in 2019 and taught Complete Extrication – Routine to Complex in 2021 and 2022.

Eric Miller

Eric Miller is a 25+ year volunteer firefighter in York, PA.  Eric has held every position within the organization, including Chief for many years.  Eric holds numerous Pro-Board certifications, including Fire Fighter II and Fire Instructor II.  Eric has since retired from active duty and now travels across the United States & Canada supporting fire departments with his current job.  Eric is a National Sales Manager (trainer) for JunkYard Dog Industries (JYD), which provides stabilization equipment for motor vehicle extrication's.

"Extrication has always been an interest of mine, especially with a first due highway that includes “dead-man’s curve”.  Eric is relatively new to the Rescue Competition world, but has been involved with the tools used to perform extrication for over 15 years.

Chris Lunt

Meet Captain Christopher Lunt, a Fire Rescue professional with an 11-year tenure in the City of Oakland Park. Captain Lunt established and captained the fire department's extrication team, known as Team Carnage. Serving as the incident commander, he showcased exceptional skills in high-pressure situations.

After displaying leadership and innovation on and off the field, Captain Lunt garnered attention, leading him to transition from active competition to a strategic role. Today, he holds the position of Southeast Regional Representative for TERC US, contributing his expertise to advance the field of technical rescue across the region.

Howie Tse

Howie is a career firefighter with over 18 years experience. He is currently the Captain of the Special Rescue Truck with Markham Fire and Emergency Services, with a specialty in Auto Extrication. Howie also has a background in Technical Rope and Water Rescue.
Howie has been part of the Markham Extrication team since its inception. He has held the various roles within the team and he is currently the team manager and trainer. As a life long learner and teacher, he is always seeking new and innovative ideas and practices.
